ReplyDeleteWhich books do you like?
ReplyDeleteShould we start reading today or what would be a good start date? Also are you going on any family vacations that might slow down our reading?
ReplyDeleteMolly's Story
ReplyDeleteMax's Story
Lily B. On The Drink Of Love
Graphic Novels
Yes I am going away for a little bit here and there. Tomorrow could be a good start date.
ReplyDeleteA lot of CHAPTERS!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete20 CHAPTERS
ReplyDeleteIt won't feel like a lot once we break it down...

*AWKWARD
*MOLLY'S STORY
Hello Charlotte! If you are reading this after you read the first two chapters of Royal Crown, your off to a great summer reading start! How do you like the book so far? It sounds like a lot of drama going on all because Mia and Olivia have some American blood in them!
ReplyDeleteWhen I blog I am going to write about 3 things: Something I liked, something I learned and something I noticed. Then I will ask you 1 question to think about. You can do the same if you like and try to think of a question for me as well. It can be a question you want me to answer or if you are confused about a certain part, you can ask a clarifying question.
I liked...how heavy the crown and the Robe of the State were described (7 pounds on her head!).
I learned...that cousin Luisa is very rude and selfish when she didn't want to share trying on the crown!
I noticed...that each chapter tells the time and the setting (the room where they are in the palace). So we were wrong when we said it was a diary.
My question...Do you think it was a good idea for Mia to let her nanny have a vacation from babysitting her young twins during this very busy time?
Happy Summer Reading!
Sorry I was at the pool for 3 hours so I am catching up now
DeleteI am just getting on the blog and I just started the reading.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what is '' The Duke ''
ReplyDeleteNever mind the duke is a helper to the thrown
DeleteDo you have a like, a learned and a notice? I can answer your question when I get my book in front of me later this evening. How did the first 2 chapters go for you?
ReplyDeleteThey went good my mom had to help me figure out some words.
DeleteI've learned that Mia, Olivia's sister is taking the thrown and I'm thinking that Mia has twin babies. She is getting complaints from their cousin, I believe, that Mia does not deserve the thrown and his son/daughter deserves it instead, that is sexist.
DeleteOnce again I noticed that Mia has twins and I noticed that Mia's real name is Amelia. and she is having a coronation.
Deletethat cousin Luisa is very rude and selfish when she didn't want to share trying on the crown!
ReplyDeleteyes a lot of drama
ReplyDeleteolivia was nervous and did not want to worry her friend so she lied to Nishi.

Monday: BLOG LOG on Chapter's 3,4,5,6-
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like the DRAMA and think I it's going to get better as we read....
I learned that Olivia has a super nice boy that is a friend (Khalil) and they call each other animal scientific names....how sweet....kind of? Ha!
I noticed the chapters are written in diary form by Olivia! It was a little unclear I thought in the first few chapters.
Questions:
I'm not sure what a Claudio is on page 24?
Can you figure out what bemused means on top of page 27 by the context clues?
I will get to what I like when I finish these chapters....I have to leave and grab dinner with my family. We are going to get our usual Sunday night pizza!
A Claudio is a bag that Luisa carries around.
Deletebemused means scarred or puzzled maybe
DeleteI am back....it's Monday morning and I am going to finish blogging about chapters 3 and 4. Let's try to BLOG on Wednesday on chapters 5, 6, 7, 8. That is two chapters on Tuesday and two chapters on Wednesday. If it's easier to Blog in the evening and have more time for reading that is fine.
ReplyDeleteInstead of telling you my like, I first have a DISlike. Ha! I dislike the way Luisa made Olivia feel about not kissing Khalil! She has such nerve! I do like how Olivia knows that the dungeon isn't scary, but has been turned into an entertainment center that people pay to see (a euro is $$ in Europe).
That's all for now. I look forward to getting your BLOG later today on chapters 3 and 4. Then I will hear from you again on Wednesday....
Enjoy the drama!
Wednesday works any time

ReplyDeleteWednesday BLOG LOG: Chapter's 5, 6, 7, 8 (I stopped reading on page 92)
ReplyDeleteI liked the things that Olivia has learned from here Grandmere ("A smile is your friend - and also your best weapon. Show a friendly face, and your enemy will be so charmed, he'll never know what hit him...until later"). She really needs to use this strategy with so many people: Lady Luisa, Baby Purple Iris, and Prince Morgan!
I learned that Olivia is a completely normal thirteen year old, who has not gotten her period yet...and Lady Luisa is totally lying about having her period so often!
I noticed that Prince Morgan is a total snot that is way to into his smart phone. I am predicting his character is going to change throughout the book? We will see...
Question:
Do you think Olivia will have time to see Khalil with all the babysitting she is doing? I really hope she does because I want to know what his surprise is for Olivia!
Happy Reading!
from the text evidence in the book I think that she is very crammed in her scheduled
Deletebut I agree that I want to know what happens in their relationship
Deletei will have to leave our house at 2:30 to do an arond
Deletethe reason that I have not been writing my own thoughts is because i agree with you
ReplyDeleteand i don't know what to say
Think of things that you like that happen in the chapters and jot those down; they can be different from mine. Next time (on Friday) when we BLOG about chapters 9, 10, 11, 12, I will wait to write until after you BLOG. That way you can write some of your likes, learned and notices. What do you think Khalil will give Olivia from Paris? Oh la la!
ReplyDeleteQuestion
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think the people in the court discussed about who gets the thrown?
And what were the two sides?
I liked that Lusia or the duke posted the picture of her in the bikini having the crown and stepping on the important cake.
I dislike that their cousin thinks that Mia does not deserve the thrown and that they when to cort.
I think the gift is a food, antique, or a kiss.
ReplyDeletewe learned that Olivia is not an emotional person .
ReplyDeleteFRIDAY BLOG LOG:
ReplyDeleteLove your comments :) What do you mean by Olivia is not an emotional person? Not sure I understand what you mean? I know she was very emotional when Lusia was wearing that crown and robe in Mia's room. She was yelling and yelling so loudly that her bodyguard heard her..ha!
I like that she had Lusia and the Duke leave the castle and go back to their own quarters. Good for her on being so firm with Luisa.
I learned that A LOT of people came over to the castle to "babysit" and they weren't really babysitting. I know that I would get in trouble if I had my friends come over when I used to babysit! But Grandmere didn't seem to care. She just wanted Luisa to follow through on her promise and WORK!
I noticed that Olivia and Khalil smile at each other and make each other laugh. So sweet! He seems like a very kind boy "friend". He even let one of the toddlers brush his hair! How nice is that!!
I agree with you, I think Khalil's gift will be an antique from Europe. I am still waiting to find out!
Chat again on Monday...read 4 more chapter's to BLOG on chapter's 13, 14 (Saturday read) 15, 16 (Monday read).
Happy Reading!
On Page 138, Olivia wrote "I am not a highly emotional person."
ReplyDeleteI noticed that Grandme're was still at the house when they were babysitting.
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of drama when Lady Luisa texted Olivia that Prince Khalil wanted to break up with Olivia because she was a stick that never had her "shells" (period) I did not believe her but I thought that she just wanted to irritate Olivia to get payback for kicking her out of the castle.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that Olivia's diary is more natral life in chapter 16. It did not bring the NEW bell.
ReplyDeleteBLOG LOG: MONDAY
ReplyDeleteI liked how Nishi was trying to get Oivia to babysit the next day to make more money and on page 166 she says, "I think we need to pursue this journey to its exciting and final conclusion". And then Oliva responded, "Did you get that line from the Bachelor"? Ha! Great line! I liked how the author used the show the Bachelor as an example!
I noticed that Olivia and Nishi are actually really good friends.
I learned that Lady Luisa is not taking the blame for going into Mia's bedroom and taking pictures of her wearing the crown in a bikini. She is trying to blame Olivia for it and Olivia wasn't going to tell anyone! Oh boy....that Lady Luisa!
Well, we finish the book on Wednesday.....I still want to know what Khalil got for Olivia. And I don't think he really said all of those things to his friends about Olivia.
Happy Reading...chat with you Wednesday!
What did you mean when you said, it did not bring the NEW bell?
ReplyDeleteI meant it as a joke as it did not ring the new ideas or something.
ReplyDeleteBLOG-WEDNESDAY
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of drama for romance
We figured out that Mia did get to be crowned "TOMORROW''
QUESTION-
Olivia did get in a fight with Price Khalil, what was the main reason that they were not on the same page?
What was the reason the girls changed the name 'period' to 'shells?'
Olivia did end up with two if her wishes, getting her first kiss and becoming a lady by having her period. And asked Grandme're to give her tips instead of asking the other girls because they would make a fuss about it.
STARTING AWKWARD TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY READING!
BLOG LOG: Thursday...
ReplyDeleteNice Reading Charlotte...Congrats finishing our first book! I hope you enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty good, filled with all of that romance you love! Ha!
I loved your thought questions...
I think the girls (Nishi and Lady Luisa) made up the the word "shells" instead of period just for more attention and to be funny girls. I think it would only make the boys more curious and ask more questions. That's all part of girl drama!
I think Olivia and Khalil weren't on the same page when they both thought one another was mad at each other and it would have all been solved if one of them would have picked up the phone and called instead of listening to other people. That's how many problems begin!!
I like how Prince Gunther thinks all people should talk together instead of girl talk and boy talk! I agree! Ha!
I learned that the courts did not just look at blood type and base their decision on DNA, I was happy to find out that they took more into consideration, like how they take care for the less unfortunate.
I thought that it was very weird that they looked into a grave to get a blood sample. Wouldn't the blood from a dead body be rotten.
DeleteI just love happy endings and I love that Olivia and Khalil are "boyfriend-girlfriend" at the end of the story!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready to begin our next book tomorrow....I started a new BLOG page for our new book. Copy and paste this link to get to the next BLOG and let me know if it works.
